Fitness February

January 2013 was one of my worst months in the last year and a half. I busted my knee on the beach in Goa while playing frisbee, my company shut down and I was back again looking for a job. The only and the easiest release was to drink beer and hang out. Although fun, it brings me down simply because alcohol is downer.

However, like a marathon (and life) when to touch the lowest point, you automatically rise up.

I used reading to rise up and read a book called 'Seeds of War' by Ashok Banker. The Mahabaratha never fails to make you feel good. Also read a non-fiction called Stay Hungry Stay Foolish. Its about IIM grads who started their own enterprises and the stories are GREAT !!

I am starting off this week with a fitness plan. I am not sure if I can pound the knee just yet and thus decided to hit the gym and swim to keep myself conditioned till I can run hard. Ofcourse plan to run easy 5-7ks twice a week but really do not want to push it. The next goal is going to be the Sunfeast 10k in May and the goal is a sub 40 minute 10k.

Todays workout was as follows - 7 sets of bench press, 3 sets of inclined bench press, 3 sets of machine bench press, 3 sets of biceps, 100 abs and 5 minutes of core.

I plan to start formal swimming classes this evening to perfect my freestyle. I might have to relearn swimming but I am ready for it.

Let the game begin
