The weekend was spent in Chennai and it started off with a cross-fit workout. Sandy and I are huge fans of cross-fit (www.cross-fit.com) and we believe that cross-fits help in making a better athlete. This week’s cross fit comprised of the following exercises –
400 meters warm-up
400 meters (as fast as you can run)
50 abs
15 knees to elbows
15 free weight squats
This set of exercises is to be repeated 3 times and you are supposed to do them without a break.
The Madras Cricket Club is going to be demolished to expand the Chepauk Stadium. That makes me a little sad. The local neighborhood cop, Partiban, has been promoted to the ranks of a sub inspector. He however, continues to like my money just as much or more than I do.
I did a 5k on Saturday with 10 pushups between each 400 meter run to improve overall strength. The idea is to not drink beer for the next ten days and shape up for the 10k run on May 31st. It is important to draw out a chart and stick to the plan to reach the ambitious goals of a 40 min 10k. It was unfortunate to abuse my system on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and it did not feel great. The only way to do it is to tie myself to chains using the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy.
