Artist, Stitches and Strength Training

Training is basically practice. Training can be compared to acting in a play/movie. It is basically rehearsing over and over again on what you want your body to accomplish during the race. If you want to run at a certain pace during the marathon, you need to train your body to run at that pace during training. If you do not walk for any distance during the marathon, it is important that you do not walk during the training sessions. You need to train your body to run when you are highly fatigued.

The stitches still continue which is frustrating. I am soaking myself in water during work at while at home to ensure that I am properly hydrated but they still do not go away. The schedule for today is “time on your feet” which is basically an hour and a half of running. The first four days of this week are really hard with a combination of long runs and intervals.

Explosive strength training is also required for a 10k. Strength training not only helps you to decrease your time on the ground but also helps to increase stride length. Even the 10k training is turning out to be like a full time job with the schedule continuously giving you, the daily dosage of guilt.
