Muhammad Ali, Predictions and Binge Drinking

Muhammad Ali is probably the greatest athlete of all times. At one point of time, he had 250 fights and never lost one single one. He won two (or more?) Olympic gold medals and predicted what round he would knock his opponent down and was probably the most outspoken athletes ever. Nothing could ever stop him – his opponents, his personal life (divorce as he spoke publicly against Malcom X) or the US government that wanted to draft him in the army. He was just a great mix of skills, brains and guts. Muhammad Ali ran every morning and he ran long.

My binge drinking days have come to an end. I feel great after this weekend – no drinks absolutely on Friday night, two small pints on Saturday and nothing at all on Sunday. My first love is running and everything else comes after. For me, it is only important to be a good runner and with Team Asha, running seems to have a whole different meaning altogether. It is no more about just my goals and me anymore. The team is a lot of fun to hang out with and practically everyone is a repository of running knowledge. Today, I learnt about buying running shoes online. The reason why you get cheaper shoes online is that these shoes like tyres have an expiry time. We also learnt a little bit about how to choose shoes but I still just can’t get it. It’s a hard skill to have and I need to study this topic a little bit more. What I learnt today though was that wetting your feet and putting it on paper is not the best way to choose the shoe.
