Marathon Running and Beer Drinking - Should I Drink or not

Two interesting and contradicting answers to my post " Marathon running and Beer drinking - Should I drink or not?"

Bobby Kunnath from the States writes - Drink in moderation while you train. (Beer is actually good for runners.) Avoid alcohol the night before the race, esp in longer distance events. And definitely drink a few after the race! Has always worked for me. Some vitamins and minerals in beer.

Vitamin contents and % of recommended daily intake per half litre of beer:
B12 Cobalamin 0.9 micrograms 50B2 Riboflavin 150 micrograms 8B6 Pyridoxine 150 micrograms 8Biotin 2.5 micrograms 8Niacin 1.5 mg 7B9 Folate 20 – 60 micrograms 5 - 22Pantothenic Acid 500 micrograms 4
Mineral Average contents and % daily intake perper half litre of beer:
Magnesium 50 mg 12Potassium 200 mg 12Silicon 10 mg -

Another message from Balaji goes like this -

"As a strong campaigner against Beer drinking, I recommend that youconcentrate on running than making Vijay Mallya richer!"

I am not bothered about making Mallaya richer as long as he provides me with a consistent and a good product.

Responses for Balaji's post were -

Ignorance is bliss...You dont know how much more happier you can be !!!!"Cheers"

Balaji, Just like running, you wont feel the euphoria till you try.

As a rule one has to 21years of age to buy his own beer!!! Balaji has to wait

if only Greek messenger Pheidippides, had somebody to hand him a mugof beer when he finished his run.....he would have lived to tell thefirst and original story of the marathon.....now we get to have somany stories since beer is here.....:-)) long live mallaya ...and his support to marathon running....:-)))
