Knee, Sweet Child and Good Advice

Some good advice from a childhood classmate-

"take care of your knee. maybe what it needs is some rest and some time to heal. so be good to it. talk to it (it works). say nice things to it and be gentle. this is what has helped me with my aches and pains, so just sharing. " - Apoorva Gupta

I like talking to parts of my body when I run. Sometimes, they feel as though they are not a part of me..they seem to have life of their own. They listen most of the time like good friends do and they take the pain to keep me going. Often, they remind me that they are like other humans and they tell me not to abuse them. At that point, I surely listen to them.

I finished Murakami's book on running "What I talk about when I am running" over the weekend. Its fantastic and a must read for every ametuer long distance runner. It keeps our ego in check for sure
