In Delhi, blogging while watching the Qutub Minar from Mahesh's balcony.
The race went off extremely well. The course, the cheerleaders, the water points and the crowd was great and I got her done in 50 minutes. I felt strong almost throughout except at the 6 km mark where I could feel some pain on the right hand side of my stomach. Minus the start fiasco (I never knew the race started until the guys in front of me started running) and the pain, I feel I could have surely done it in 47 minutes but one can always give reasons.
Thomas, Vicky and I got to chill in Bangalore in Thomas's pad with a few beers and that was refreshing. Lizzie, who is leaving on a fullbright scholarship to the Phillipines got me some dinner and we had some great conversation. The fine dining comprised of curd rice and palak panneer.
The next few days are going to be spent in the Delhi - Lucknow area. Parathas in Delhi is the best food in the world. I learnt that there are different kinds of parathas depending on the utensils they use to make it. Out of all the parathas, Aloo and Gobi are my favorites. I am an potato fan and potato (aloo) paratha with curd is as close to my heart as curd rice is. This was topped with tea in Tankoo's tea shop - Tankoo is this guy who has a really bad mouth and he uses as liberally as the sugar in his tea
The next race is going to be in Singapore on November 30th with a target of 3 hours 45 minutes. I have a strategy in place but I'll save that for the next post
