Backwaters of Mallipet, Abandoned Ship and Sunfeast Run

I just arrived in Bangalore this morning. The last three days has been a lot of running around and I had to miss my runs. This is making me a little nervous and I feel as though I have forgotten how to run. I hope it will all come back tomorrow and I'll atleast be able to finish the 10k in 47-50 minutes.

We discovered some cool places around Thanjavur. One of them is this place called Mallipet which has backwaters connecting to the Bay of Bengal. I got a chance to go all the way to the ocean on a boat yesterday with three other fishermen. We climbed into an abandoned ship using a rope and checked it out. When you get there ask for Allaiathi and you will be taken to the backwaters. Costs Rs.800 for the forest permit, boat ride and some great company.
