I really really wish I had friends in Singapore who would come to cheer me for the race. Running a marathon means that you are dealing with a lot of emotions which people don't tend to notice since they are focusing on the physical aspect so much. It is usually amazingly nice to have a friend cheer you especially during the last 3 miles of the race and maybe run with you.
Some do's before the race
a) good carbo loading for a week before the race which means plates full of thair satham (curd rice) and pongal
b) atleast 8 hours of sleep everyday for the last few days. You really need this because you will not be able to sleep one night before the marathon
c) Spend as little time on your feet on friday and saturday before the race. Emphasize again on complete rest. However, make sure you run atleast 4 miles a day before the race
d) Hydrate as much as possible for 18-36 hours before the race
