I must admit that before I visited Delhi for the first time this weekend, I had a skewed perception of the place (never liked it). This weekend, I realized that it can be a runners paradise. I ran with a friend called Neha at JNU. Though it was a 2km loop, it was really green with an optimal mix of uphill, downhill and flat terrain.
I also got a chance to run with the blogger/Runner Tanvir Kazmi in Nehru park. They have a running track there which is just as good as any running track in the states. With tons of trees and grass, the place is definitely meant for running. Best of luck you guys for the half mary later this month.
The conference was great and the launch of the fund was a lot of fun too. The finance minister P. Chidambaram was one of the key speakers. I am starting to understand the big picture of the microfinance industry and I must tell you that it is one hell of a puzzle. The industry offers an optimal mix of financial returns and social good...exactly my kind of a thing.
Its time to start running now in chennai. I sometimes really hate the trails and the routes in Chennai and I think I have had too much running here. I need to move to a new place with brand new routes.

Hey Shumit, It was nice running with you. I am glad that you have a few nice things to say about Delhi now! I did a 15 k practice run organised by Jindal Steel this Sunday...I had gone hoping they would do at least part of the route but had to be content with Nehru park circumference. Funny, teh only two categories of people I overtook were the fat and the old!! The one decent runner I managed to run past caught up with me when i stopped to have my little gulp of water...and our paths crossed never to meet again...=) I enjoyed my cool regular pace though, finished in 1 hr 32 minutes and 30 seconds. As each LR has been my first, I really have not had a chance to experiment with speed, next time, I guess!! Should one run with mouth open or closed? I always learnt that breathing through nose tires you lesser and thus the right thing to do...I tend to agree..but the Jindal team trainer emphasised breahing through open mouth!! Cheers, Neha
