Singapore Marathon

I still manage to get four days of running - one mid long distance, one 24k plus, one speed workout and one 7k run to keep myself sane. The problem is hitting the gym. Its terribly boring to lift weights in a place full of pseudo fitness freaks. Fitness one in Chennai is more focused on weight loss rather than the actual fitness. Most people I get to meet at the gym are people who don't know much about fitness - a topic that I love to discuss.

The eyes are still on the prize though - singapore marathon in less than 4 hours. As of now, I can get a 25 k done in about 2 hours 20 minutes and that can qualify me to finish a 42 km in sub 4 if I push my speed workouts a little bit harder. I might have to deviate from the traditional runners world plan and focus on speed 2 days a week, uphill/ one day and a 30 k run every sunday to meet my target. It is possible provided I work hard on my upper body strength, eat right and sleep for atleast 8 hours a day.
