The Green, EGL & Haile

Life always moves in unexpected directions. There are always some ups and some lows. This time unfortunately the low is internal and for the first time in 8 years there is both a need and an incentive to earn a little more money. The marginal increase is required mainly to help you get out of the rainy days and in this case it is more like a flood.

Thanks to Bhasker, I found this great route to run on Sunday morning. Its called the Embassy golf link where RFL organizes its fortnightly runs occasionally. I was never a big fan of "organized running groups". However, I have converted into a RFL fan now sheerly because of how dedicated these guys are to an absurd activity called running in general and long distance running to be specific. They have converted running to be a fad and Bangalore running scene would not have taken off so fast without these guys.

Running helps me get close to my rebel instincts which have been quite controlled for the last 6 years. I am one of those who react best when someone tells me "that I cannot achieve something".

My run on Sunday was fairly smooth. I was supposed to run a 21km but when the guys nudged me for a 25 km, I could not resist. The weather co-operated as well !!

In other news, Haile wins Berlin again. This time he missed a world record but that does not undermine his achievement. I have concluded that this guy cannot be human and I hope to go see this legend next year if things go as planned.

The brain is craving for some good Indian fiction. I started with "God of Small Things on Sunday". Two characters in the book assumed that if you die on a zebra crossing then the government will pay for your funeral..I cracked up !! Arundathi Roy is amazing
