The running world is divided into 4 categories. “Non-runners who don’t run” – These guys don’t know what they are missing out on. “Non-runners who run” – These guys feel guilty after a few rough nights and decide to take up running for a few days. “Runners who don’t run” – These are guys from the track team in school who quit running and “moved on” forgetting the physical, emotional and mental benefits of running. “Runners who run” – These guys can’t give up running and any other form of fitness is used only to enhance their speed/distance.
“Runners who Run” are usually slaves to a training schedule. Without a training plan, a runner gets grumpy and unmotivated. A crucial file on his computer is a training program that directs his day – how much time he can sleep, what he needs to eat and how much time he can spend at work. It’s a classic case of a habit graduating to an addiction. What is important, is how effectively you can contain this addiction – give yourself enough rest days and ensure that you sleep and eat well.
Mikhail and I did a 55 min this morning in DRDO colony. It’s a great green place to run without much traffic. We strike a good balance between pushing each other to run faster and also slow it down when really required. But once the distance/time is set, there is practically no turning back.

Is he training for a marathon?
He'd like that (I have one of those things...I've never used it though)

I remember you do not like to run with ipod, km counter...just you and breeze.

You are lucky that the security let u run through the DRDO township - he chased me down and gave me a stern warning not to come in ever again as outsiders are not allowed to run/walk in the twonship. However, its a great place to run - I have been running here for over 10 years now.

I do agree that without a training plan and a race in sight, it is difficult to stay motivated!
