You can’t force yourself to start a training plan. It needs to come from within. You can however force yourself to pull through the 16-20 week training plan. Starting to run has to come from within and that will only happen when your body, soul and heart are all ready for it.
Advice and concern from my friend Anjana who is a fantastic runner in Newyork
“I hope you took some time off after to recuperate/rest; I'm sure you trained hard for this but the strain still seems so huge that it could potentially blow your knees or something...”.
I've been doing nothing but taking rest Anjana !!!
The biggest sacrifice that a serious runner has to make in his life is being emotionally detached. Emotional attachment means ups and downs that can potentially ruin your training schedule. Its best to be in a stable and healthy relationship and if that is not possible, just stay away from it all. Like the upper body, the relationships need to be worked on during the off-season.
The training schedule is like a religious text and running is the religion. You need to follow the training schedule as closely as possible even on days you think you just cannot. The lucky part is you can custom-make the training schedule to your goals but in the case of religion you basically don’t have a choice.
Watched a movie called “Music and Lyrics” last night and it was quite cheesy. I love these cheesy shows for some reason. Also read chapter 2 in Iliad which basically gives out all the names of the warriors and their core strengths. It was fun in the beginning but I had to skim through the chapter. Chapter 3 talks about how Gods can quickly put in an emotion into mortals. Athena puts in a momentary love for Meneleus in Helen when Meneleus fights Paris. She sheds a tear for Meneleus. The movie is complete shit. In the movie, Paris wants to fight Meneleus but the actual text says that Paris was trying to flee the moment he saw Meneleus and Hector instigates him to come out and fight.

I agree - in more ways than one.
