Monk, Sister and Weekend

The weekend was a little bit of a mess though I managed to squeeze in a 15k run. Lets just say that there were some happy moments and some regrets and it went in an eventful manner. If not for running again, I am convinced that I would be a very unhappy man. Running for me is my life, its rhythm and its music. Some people ask me if I am into music and I like to answer that I love running mainly because I listen to tunes that no one can hear. It’s like an invincible goddess singing to you in your ear…that’s the exact feeling. Running for me keeps you light, helps you eat like a pig and puts some strange confidence in you. The other thing that does that to you is drinking tequila although it is not personally my liquor of choice.

Work wise things are going well. I enjoy motivating and pushing people to achieve their best and that s what I am doing here. At the same time, I am working on products and technologies that could probably revolutionize banking and I enjoy being a part of things like that.

I was running with a serious long distance runner this week who trains twice a day. He looked like a monk. The guy never eats garlic, onions, meat, does not touch alcohol or cigarettes. He believes that praise can only motivate a long distance runner. Its not alone by itself that can keep us going. I think I agree with him. I don’t think I can ever be like him. Once in two weeks, I need to drink plenty of beers to keep me guilty and on my toes.

My sister has started training too and the plan is to do a half marathon next year around the same time with her. That will most probably be the Delhi half marathon.
