40km Running Week, Chennai and Kaveri

Last week was a great running week. I clocked 40 kms (25 miles) for the week that is the longest since my injury. The runs were all over the place – Indira nagar, Lalbagh, Fitness one and on Taylors road of course. The runs were also with different people – Balaji, Manjari, Siddharth and a random cute girl who was running next to me in the gym.

Saturday night while drinking at Zara, I realized that Chennai is not the place where I would like to really hang out and drink beer. Zara has lost its charm for me and there is a good chance that I might not go there again. The place gave me a really bad vibe and every table there bought back memories. The moment the drinking stopped, I just decided to just rush out of the place. Just for the record, the memories do not refer to the ones with my ex-girlfriend. Those were crappy because she would always control my drinking which would piss me off. A man knows how much to drink and you should just let people have fun…not stop it. The memories refer to having plenty of people around and knowing almost everyone in the place. Anyways, the bottom line is that I don’t like living in Chennai as much as I liked before. The only thing I enjoyed about the place this week was to hang out with my folks, Markos, Pankaj and the 10k run that I did in fitness one.

If things go well and if I am in Bangalore on Oct 19th, I’ll probably do the Kaveri Trail half marathon that is supposed to be super scenic.
