I was feeling a bit low on Friday due to some bad days at work and some personal trouble. Normally, when I am low, I would just blow the steam off by going on a long run but due to the knee issue, there is no real release. Decided to go play ball in the evening without really straining myself. The idea was to try and make some quick strategic passes and feel going about the game. The coach and the kids in Tanjore think I am some alien and let me play the moment I walk to the court which is great. The game was great and I got a few layups coupled with some good passes.
I got to meet the doc on Saturday morning and let me tell you that this dude knows what injuries mean to athletes. He never tells you not to run, he mentioned to run shorter distances and cut down on speed and definitely change my shoes. This got me to buy myself a pair of adi zeros. It’s a great shoe – keeps it light and simple, just the way I like my relationships.
Quite a party on Saturday night and I had more beers than I should. The crowd in Chennai sucks – its hard to even spot a girl who is half way good looking. Even if you can spot a cute looking girl, I cant help noticing a fat round ricey stomach which is a huge put off. It makes me feel that I am not missing much living in Tanjore.
Spent most of Sunday staring at the television. I am not addicted to television but when loneliness stares at you, you could stare at the television for some great release.
Work has been stressful and boring for the last few days. Development work is hard – you don’t see results. It’s terribly slow and painful. I find that consulting is much easier than implementation and my heart really wants to get back to consulting.
