I get pissed when people comment about my food habits, sleep habits just because I look at it as a sacrifice for all the fun I could have had. I hate it when people say "why you waking up at 4:00 am?", especially when people say that "you eat dhal and rice, wherever you go?" and what ticks me off the most is when they say "you are so boring....why can't you go out and have some fun...why do you have to be so rigid?".
The thing is I have had enough fun in the past and these folks were just not around to see it. I am bored of the usual partying crap and I don't even fit in the chennai party circle very well. They all seem a little off to me and I guess I odd to them too. I just find a lot of kids running around wherever I go other than the local friendly neighbourhood pub zara.
The screw up about chennai is that there is not much to do other than to go out to a pub. The theater thing is usually not much fun other than exceptional plays like 5 point someone. The beach is again full of kids running around or couples making out. The ECR road is too dangerous to ride on a bike. If I go to mahabs, there are too many places offering cheap beer which is irressitable. The movies are usually full and these days you rarely get to watch a fun movie.
Jyo is leaving in the next two days and frankly I am geting a little depressed of this place and everyone around me. The only thing that keeps me going now is my running group (the chennai runners). I am happy to wake up at 5:00 am and see runners pounding it out. Motivation for me to remain fit comes from the group - I feel by running harder and faster, I will be able to improve the overall fitness of the group. For doing this, I need to do what I do - wake up early, eat what I eat and sleep when I have to.
Like they say "whatever turns you on" - Wierd things turn me on, I used to get turned on by women who did economics. Running is just one of these things.

This guy is the real deal to be sure. I went to school with him at USU and was known to be quite the party animal back then.
