Rest Week

I injured myself again playing basketball last saturday. Its a classic basketball ankle injury - went for a layup and twisted my ankle. I thought I did not twist my ankle really bad and continued to play after five minutes and rolled it again. The ankle now looks like a small hillock.
Well, I think this is a good thing though. Its going to give me a week's break from running and my body definitely needs it. This week was also fantastic in terms of meeting new runners.

Met two runners who ran the Boston and the Houston marathons - Virginia Wade and Scott. These guys are hard core and the best part is that they train in the same place as I do. They have also been initiated into the hash last week and they love it. Starting next week, I will be training with both of them twice a day. We have planned the hard runs for the early mornings and easy ones in the evenings.

The goal for the half marathon in Mysore on May 13th is going to 1:45. I am getting there. On a good day now, I can get 21 km done in 1:55 but shaving off those ten minutes can be a bitch.

Damn dude! A twisted ankle is no good and a week will not be long enough for it to be comfortable to run on. Remember that Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation are your best friends right now.
