After every long run (read beyond 30km) it is important to rest. The importance of rest is often understated. To run better, it is not sufficient if you continue to run longer and faster on a daily basis. Your muscles form only when you sleep.
By not resting after the Mumbai marathon, I am down with a bad case of cold and cough which has taken away a few days from my Auroville half marathon training. I have not set a target for myself at Auroville but surely will attempt to run it in 1:40 minutes or less.
