Patient Wait, Vengance and Liquid Diet

This is going to be a long and a patient wait. The groin just got better but complete recovery from the fever seems to take its own sweet time. Running/ training during recovery will only take me longer to get better and the quality of the runs will suck. Its best to wait it out and let the body recuperate at its own pace. One smart thing I am doing is not abuse it during the recovery process and ensuring that I get enough rest.

I watched the winners sprint it out at the recent marathon from the sidelines and I am quite confident that it is a possibility to run with that sort of a vengeance in 2009. After recovery, the immediate need is to start micro which means to improve my 800 meters and my 1km pace. The 19 day repeat training intervals will begin on March 15 and will continue to go on until May 17 when the Sunfeast 10k run is scheduled. Pair of new trainers are being chosen for the purpose and in all probability it will be Nike’s Bowerman Series. The last week of Feb and most of March will go towards conditioning for the March 15th training.

When I went to watch the marathon one dude kept telling me about the weight I lost and how haggard I look. I wonder what they expected to see if I was on drips and liquid diet for a week. The fact is even a limping stray dog could beat that foo who has been running for 5 years without even 1% improvement and so there was no point really reciprocating. A good half marathon timing for him would be 3 hours plus. I’ll quit if I have to run like that. Its hard to explain how depressing it is to not run after all the training to people who have never trained hard enough before and it is best to just save the emotions.

So much of negativity just because one guy said you look haggard and thin? And so much of arrogance for being better than a limping stray dog??
Good way of saving the emotions by the way!
Pity.
