Keep Off the Grass, NY, 10k and A Running Partner

The Auroville marathon was just not meant to be. I got hit by a mild case of dengue and I got out of it alive after being admitted in the hospital for 5 full days. Two books (not the best I've read) - "Keep off the grass" and "The Wolf of Wall Street" helped me get past the last few days.

Anyways, after three weeks of no running, the body simply does not seem like mine anymore. After another week of rest and recovery, I'll be starting off running towards the last week of February after registering for NY and getting myself a new pair of shoes. I'll just start really slow and teach my legs how to start jogging again before they begin to gallop.

The next goal is to train for the sunfeast 10k which is up on May 15 and the goal will be to run it in 35 min without killing myself.

One lesson learnt from the entire training for Auroville thing is the need to recruit a good bunch of training partners before you start training for a marathon. It is extremely difficult to train alone especially from week 9 to week 14. The runs are long, lonely and with the clock ticking you need someone to constantly push you and motivate you.

Hey pal, take it easy and I am sure you will return to full fitness pretty soon. BTW, I had the same D-scare before ADHM, though it was even milder. The Delhi run is jinxed for me, and I always manage to catch something bad before the run.
