Midnight Marathon Plot

Last night’s schedule was a 15k run in 1 hour and 17 minutes. However, I was able to complete 10k in 50 minutes. I find running in the gym terribly boring and monotonous. I was supposed to do the 15k at steady speed but if you set the treadmill at 13kmph, you really are inefficient because noone can start off at that speed. You spend a lot more energy in the first 5 kms because your body is not warmed up yet. This is why it is advised that you start slower than usual and gradually pick up speed.

No matter how hard I try, the schedule is continuously beating me. For example, this week, I am lagging behind by 5kms because I cut short my run last night. Today schedule is to slowly run 13.3km and get my body warmed up for tomorrow night’s run. I am also suffering from a severe cold and cough which maybe good in one way. I try not to consume beer if I am suffering with cold.

The target still stands between 1:40 – 1:45. I am hoping to find someone to run with but unfortunately I have not run with any of them before. My plan is to do an efficient negative split, completing the first 10k in 51 min and the next 10k in 47 min and the last 1k in 4 min.
