The alarm was set at 4:30 am but I exercised my thumb by snoozing the alarm until 5:10. It was supposed to be a 26km run and I started to feel the butterflies in my stomach. Quickly called Nischal and set out to run in Cubbon park. After 15km we met Athreya who recluctantly ran a 5k with us. We then bumped into doc who pushed me do the last 5k in 22 minutes. A great run overall and I felt strong after it despite the timebomb I had at Coconut Grove last night. I will be following this up with a 15k tomorrow at Cubbon Park. My alcohol strategy is to shift from beer to cocktails this year. You pay a lot more for it and you thus want to drink it really slow and enjoy it.
I am excited about the midnight marathon next week and am targetting a 1:42. I hope to pull it off.
