Cook, Sprints and Track Workouts

Yesterday’s schedule was 14*200 meter sprints and I chose to go to defense colony after work to do it. The first 10 sprints were quite fast (did not record the timings really) according to my sprint standards but the last 4 were really hard. I start to cramp up on the right side of my stomach that could be because of insufficient water consumption or poor stretching before the run. The key was to tell myself that “there is no space for weakness in Sparta” – Source Movie 300 and I was able get all 14 done.

I miss training on a real track. Although there are a lot of parks in Bangalore, there is no real track close to where I live. Running on the track makes me feel like a real athlete as opposed to just a runner.

I am convinced that sprints once a week is really necessary to make you feel strong. Even after a few drinks at herbs and spices last night (Mikhail’s birthday) I felt mighty fit. I ended up eating two plates of pasta within a span of 2 hours and drank half a bottle of wine and two beers.

The cook graced me with her presence this morning and I got a wholesome breakfast the moment I got out of bed. This saves me a lot of time that will be effectively spent in working out at the gym.
