Update

I have not been able to blog enough because the internet connection in this place is quite bad and I am too lazy to blog on a really slow and random internet connectivity.

Training has been going well and I have been drinking very little beer - 3-4 beers a week. I missed training twice last week but I got to run 4 times despite putting in 16 hour days. I got a speed workout done which entailed 5*1km (4 min 50 seconds) with a 90 second break in between. The other runs were fairly easy mainly 5k easy runs.

Martin Lel of Kenya set a course record of 2 hours, 5 minutes, 15 seconds Sunday and captured his third London Marathon in four years.

The book "Gangleader for a day" by Sudhir Venkatesh is done and I got to learn a lot about Chicago neighborhoods and the power structure in the housing projects there. Also, I am really glad that I have a better life than than folks in the housing projects have. You got to read the book, it is quite intense.

I have started to read Murakami's Norwegian Wood which is fantastic - conversations about wells, love and life. Its really random and thats what Murakami is all about.

I am doing a timed 5k run tomorrow and the goal is to finish it in less than 23 minutes. Lets hope that happens.
