Currently Reading

I am currently reading several books now - Sacred Games by Vikram Chandra, Animal Farm by George Orwell and The 25th Hour by David Benioff.

Out of the three, my favorite is The 25th Hour. THE 25TH HOUR is a day in the life of one Monty Brogan. It is Monty's last day of freedom for seven years, his last day before he starts hard time in a federal prison.

Benioff introduces Monty's friends since high school: Slattery, a commodities trader and Jakob Elinsky, a high school English comp teacher who simultaneous envy Monty for what he has been and pity him for what he faces.

Naturelle, Monty's girl, has conflicting emotions over his leaving. She welcomes the opportunity to be free from him while having trouble giving up the lifestyle that she has enjoyed in the past.

The book is a fast read and infact, there is a movie based on it starring Ed Norton.
