Last week was like a total Bollywood movie for me….mixture of a range of emotions – friendships, laughs, astonishment, fear, exercise, happiness and very little romance.
I won’t go into that because this post is for the hash run that happened sunday. The terrain was awesome- we ran up a mountain, the circle was fun as usual especially to see two of my friends sit on a block of ice, the food was awesome – I ended up having like five sandwiches, chips, and a lot of beer of course.
There is something about the hash…its not the usual drinking thing that happens there. It’s a lot more fun that that. I don’t think I will ever be able to understand myself as why I like it as much as I like it. A part of it is the people, the humor, the nasty talk and when this is combined with beer and good food, the combo is dirtier, harder and thicker. The runs are also in exotic locations – I never knew Chennai had such beautiful places before I joined the hash. For the last two months, I have been looking forward to every hash run and make sure that I allot time for the runs.
The next hash run is at Bakarapet which is 40 kms from Tirupathi. This is one of the most awaited event for the year. It’s happening November 18-19 and is called Jazz in the Jungle. I plan to use the mountains to prepare for the Hyderabad Marathon which is on Nov 26. Adding a little beer to the training can’t really hurt that hard.
